We bought our house with a huge-ass lot for this reason. We tell children to be outside. They are not allowed to be in if the sun is out. We eat outside. We play outside. We look at the fire-pit. Whatever. Just go. Outside. Now.

(Plus, I need it so there’s that…)

Sometimes, those loaners make for the best pics :) Looking forward to seeing more!

I love your post and the encouragement to get outside, and also knowing about your friend. I’m thinking about her today and hoping for the best. She writes so movingly about what she’s going through, I’m still feeling choked up for her and her family. I hope the surgery is a huge success. xo

Combine reading and nature as one by making a list of items for your kids to find either on a walk or in your own backyard.

I always know my kids have had a good outdoors day when they are dirty and sweaty like you described. As my mom says: “That’s how kids are supposed to be!”
