I obviously never knew your grandmother, but it appears you have her spark. :)

Here’s to appreciating them while we have them — May her memory be a blessing.

xo — thinking of you —

My grandparents were all of advanced age (or gone) by the time I could remember them and engage with them — so I never got that “typical” hanging out with grandma experience. But one of my grandmothers lived with us for many years, and I always wonder what she’d been like when she was a young woman. It is a fascinating thought.

I’m sure all these lovely thoughts of your grandmother will shine through, no matter what your exact words will be. thinking of you.

I was very close to my grandmother and lost her last year. She was 96. My condolences to you right along with everyone else.

I am very sorry for your loss, Amie. My Nagy Mama was very unconventional, compared to her European counterparts; bumming my cigarettes, while accompanying me on spur of the moment, late night trips to Atlantic City. She’s celebrating her 6th anniversary in heaven this week and, well, my Nagy Mama and your grandma sound like they’d get along, just fine. {{{hugs}}}

(I lost my maternal grandma to Alzheimers too. But I never really knew her because she had it even when I was really little. And the other grandma didn’t like my mom. And she had 10 kids. SO I was lucky she knew my name and who I belonged to. She had 30 other grandchildren!)

Your grandma sounds like a cool chick. Sounds like she lived life on her own terms. Gotta admire that. Ya know?

She sounds like she was a hell of a lady–and this is such a touching tribute. I have no doubt you’ll find the right words to share this weekend.

You are in my thoughts…(hug)

One of my grandmother’s had severe dementia for a decade or so before she passed away, so i know what you mean. Still, it’s so final. But your grandmother sounds like she was a real character back in the day. May the best part of her continue to live on in your memories and your family traditions.
