Holy Christmas!! It’s finally over.

So The Departed. That was a surprise. I think Babel was a terrific movie but most people probably fell asleep while watching it and never found out how it ended so they didn’t feel like they could vote for it.

I was bummed Cars didn’t win for best animated film. But I get to see it so many times a week (thanks Mr. 3) that I’ll keep appreciating it despite it’s runner-up status.

I was surprised Peter O’Toole didn’t win. He’s been nominated what 8 times and he’s not looking so healthy. I was sure the academy was going to go with the “body of work” vote there.

Martin Scorcese–oh my god I would HAVE to be acting WITH Leonardo DiCaprio (with a sex scene) to act in a movie that man directed. I think he would annoy me after just a few seconds (though I’m sure he’s a lovely man).

And Leo…oh I could just look at him forever. So glad Ellen pointed him out for our benefit in her monologue.

So that’s it for my wrap-up. Back to the painting. I’m almost done. A lovely pale yellow.

    I love Ellen!! Love her!

Ellen did a great job. I loved the Ellen Bjorn. Thank God Martin finally made a decent enough film to win. Why doesn’t he wax those eyebrows?

  3. 100 Words

Despite Dame Helen’s predictable success, everyone over here iss moaning that the academy is bias towards American films. I, frankly, couldn’t give a toss.

  4. Dorky Dad

My Boy thought that Cars was the best movie of the year last year.

Personally, I thought Little Miss Sunshine was a better movie than The Departed, but what do I know?

  5. PunditMom

I couldn’t last that long, but here’s my question — every year they seem to start earlier and they say they’re keeping the speeches short, so why does it ALWAYS end after midnight??

Also, for a great movie — Children of Men.

    I thought that Ellen Did a greatjob…
And holy smokes… I have never screamed so loud as when they called my friend’s name was called…
My husband, and I did a happy dance… And then we were so enthrallled with the screen… that all others vanished away…
And my daughter thought we were from Mars!!!!

I was bummed that Cars didn’t win, but maybe it’s because I, too, have watched it a million times with my brood here.

  8. Queen of the Mayhem

I loved “Little Miss Sunshine”. However, after a November trip to Disney World that included 10 hours STRAIGHT of “Cars”…..I needed a break!

    As for LEO…….YUMMY!

Departed was such a great movie! Quite frankly it was almost porn for me. Walberg, Damon and DiCaprio. AND with Boston accents! My loins quiver when I hear that Boston (Fock you!)
